Josh is an oceanographer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, specialising in global ocean warming. His research was widely cited in the IPCC’s Nobel Peace Prize-winning 2007 report. He is the Lead Researcher of the Oceans Melting Greenland (OMG) program, which is currently mapping West Greenland’s ocean floor looking for answers as to why Greenland is melting four times faster than anywhere else on earth. Michel is a world leading scientist in the rapidly developing field of ocean bioacoustics. He is Director of LAB (Laboratory of Applied Bioacoustics), Barcelona, Spain. His projects include saving Amazon dolphins and Atlantic whales from accidental death from acoustic trauma, and mankind itself from tsunamis, using underwater sensors linked to a central warning system. His pioneering work has been featured in worldwide press – broadcast and print.

Award: Eureka Prize

Peter holds the Eureka Prize for his discovery of the mass coral spawning event on the Great Barrier Reef. His research has focused on hard corals in Japan, Micronesia, French Polynesia, the Arabian Gulf, Florida, Bahamas, Maldives, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Philippines and Antarctica. In 1995, he was Project Leader for a UN mission to assess the impacts of the first Gulf War on the coral reef systems of Kuwait. He has held Ministerial appointments at Federal and State level.
